Raider football team tacks on 8 signees to recruiting class

ASHLAND – Southern Oregon University football coach Charlie Hall announced Tuesday the addition of eight more signees to the Raiders' list of commitments, all set to join the team as freshmen this fall.

SOU inked 14 individuals – 10 high school seniors and four transfers – on National Signing Day earlier this month. Hall and his staff bolstered the class with four defensive players and four more pieces for the Raider offense.

The signees are listed alphabetically below:

DA'MON CARTER | Elk Grove, Calif./Cosumnes Oaks HS
DE | 6-2, 205 | HIGHLIGHTS
Notable:
An All-Delta League second-team selection last fall after leading his team in sacks and tackles for losses … Rated a two-star linebacker by 247Sports but projects to play defensive end for the Raiders.
Coach's Quote: "A dynamic athlete that will provide immediate depth at the DE position. Da'mon will become an elite pass rusher in the very near future." – Charlie Hall

DEONTE CARTER | Elk Grove, Calif./Cosumnes Oaks HS
WR | 6-3, 188 | HIGHLIGHTS
Notable:
Selected to the All-Delta League first team and All-Metro (Sacramento) second team … Led Cosumnes Oaks in receptions, reception yards and touchdowns on the way to team offensive MVP honors … Also an all-league honoree in basketball.

NOAH CHRISTENSEN | Camas, Wash./Camas HS

Notable:
An all-league performer, captain and two-year starter at Camas … Voted the team's most inspirational player by his teammates.
Coach's Quote: "Noah is another quality Camas player from one of the top football programs in southwest Washington. Noah will enter college in the fall as one of the strongest players on the team." – Charlie Hall

DJ DAUGHERTY | Coos Bay, Ore./Marshfield HS
WR | 5-10, 170 | HIGHLIGHTS
Notable:
Starred for the OSAA Class 4A champion Pirates, garnering all-state first team recognition as both a receiver and a defensive back … Amassed 73 receptions for 1,274 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior.

BRANDON DOMINGUEZ | Medford, Ore./North Medford  HS

Notable:
An All-Southwest Conference selection at defensive end as a senior … Played for the Black Tornado under longtime Raider assistant Nathan Chin.

CONNOR GILBREATH | Redding, Calif./University Prep HS
TE | 6-5, 230 | HIGHLIGHTS
Notable:
Notched first-team honors at tight end and defensive end for the Division IV Northern Section CIF champions … Was also named to the all-state second team (small school) as a defensive end.

JIMMY JORDAHL | Central Point, Ore./Crater HS

Notable:
Made the OSAA Class 5A all-state first team on both sides of the ball as a defensive end and offensive tackle … Was the Rogue Valley's only player at any classification to earn a first-team nod … Was selected to the Les Schwab All-Star game as a junior and ranked as the sixth-best defensive lineman in Oregon by Prep Red Zone … Played for the Comets under former SOU defensive coordinator Berk Brown.

An All-Delta League performer … Played receiver, defensive back and was a kick-returner for Cosumnes Oaks.
