ASHLAND – The No. 3-ranked Southern Oregon women's wrestling team shut out Corban for the second time this season Friday night at Bob Riehm Arena, thumping the Warriors 46-0 in a Cascade Conference dual.
Sienna Ramirez, SOU's top-ranked 155-pounder, and No. 10 170-pounder
Bailey Dennis topped off the evening with back-to-back pins against nationally-ranked opponents. Ramirez took care of No. 15 Alexys Zepeda in 20 seconds for her 33rd win of the season. Dennis finished No. 18 Gabby Tata Rodrigues in 2:06.
Four Raiders recorded technical falls:
Emma Baertlein (101),
Tara Othman (116),
Carolina Johnson (123) and
Carolina Moreno. Moreno's win brought her record to 25-4.
The Raiders accepted their other four victories by forfeit.
They improved to 8-2 in dual action. Their first meeting against Corban was a 50-0 final.
They'll close the regular season at 6 p.m. Saturday against Eastern Oregon and honor three seniors in the process: Othman, Johnson and Ramirez.
