SOU 6th in NAIA's 1st regular season poll

3/9/2022 4:55:00 PM

ASHLAND – Off to a 15-5 start, the Southern Oregon University softball team is No. 6 in the first NAIA Top 25 coaches' poll of the regular season, which was released Wednesday by the national office.

The Raiders dropped one spot from their preseason standing. Oregon Tech stayed at No. 1, and Oklahoma City moved in front of College of Idaho for the No. 2 spot. Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), which has won its first 15 games of the season, was the only addition to the top-five at No. 4.

The Raiders haven't been outside of the top-10 since March of 2018.

They'll work on their 2-1 Cascade Conference record this weekend against Providence (Mont.). Due to the Argos' unplayable field in Great Falls, the four-game series will move to Caldwell, Idaho, with doubleheaders scheduled for 2 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
