No. 16 Raiders hammer Walla Walla

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Southern Oregon won its sixth consecutive match and swept its fourth in a row by brushing off Walla Walla (Wash.) 25-14, 25-11, 25-13 on Saturday night at Windemuth Court.

Marin Mackey turned in 12 kills and nine digs, and Kylie Anderson totaled season-highs of 17 digs and three service aces for the No. 16-ranked Raiders, whose perfect road trip made them 21-5 overall and 14-4 in the Cascade Conference.

Megan Perry was the most efficient of SOU's hitters in a .354 attack, going for 10 kills on 16 attempts with just one error. Hannah Stadstad contributed 11 kills, and Sadie Byrd added five kills and five blocks.

Mackey, a junior outside hitter, has hit double figures in four of SOU's last five matches, averaging 4.2 per set during that span. Stadstad has done so in six straight matches with an average of 4.4 per set.

The Raiders have still never dropped a set to the Wolves (1-18, 1-17) in 16 all-time matchups.

They remain in third place entering home matches next Friday against Evergreen (Wash.) and Saturday against Northwest (Wash.). Both start at 7 p.m.
