CALDWELL, Idaho – Top-ranked College of Idaho still owns the Cascade Conference women's cross country circuit, but No. 7 Southern Oregon remains the best of the rest after another second-place effort Friday at the CCC Championships presented by U.S. Bank.

The Yotes won their fifth consecutive team title, and the Raiders were runners-up for the fifth time as many years when the 6,000-meter race concluded at Fairview Golf Course. For the ninth season in a row, SOU is all but assured an at-large team berth in the NAIA Championships, which take place Nov. 17 in Vancouver, Wash.

Junior Lauren Forster and senior Alejandra Lopez repeated as All-CCC performers, both moving up one spot relative their 2022 finishes. Forster placed sixth in 22 minutes 17.5 seconds, and Lopez jumped four spots over the final 2K to eighth in 22:24.5.

Two Raider newcomers joined them in the All-CCC circle: junior Cammeo Ramirez, who placed 12th in 22:28.3, and freshman Alyssa Johnson, who was 14th in 22:38.2. Johnson became SOU's first all-conference freshman since 2010.

Sarah Mauk was SOU's fifth and final scorer in 21st place with a time of 23:24.3.

The top-three placers overall were identical to last year's, all produced by the Yotes as Ellyse Tingelstad (20:51.5) defended her title ahead of teammates Sage Martin (21:06.4) and Abbey Shirts (21:16.4). C of I accumulated 18 team points to SOU's 60 by putting all five of its scorers among the top-seven. Even two of its non-scorers claimed All-CCC spots.

Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), which entered with the NAIA's No. 19 ranking, was 14 points behind SOU in third place.
