PLAYOFF PICTURE: The Cascade Conference Championships presented by U.S. Bank resume Wednesday at Les Schwab Sports Park in Springfield with the semifinal round, which pits No. 1 seed Southern Oregon (17-2 overall) against No. 5 seed Oregon Tech (11-4-3), and No. 2 seed Warner Pacific (13-3-2) against No. 3 seed College of Idaho (11-3-3). The winners will advance to play in the final at noon Friday with the CCC's second automatic bid for the NAIA Championships on the line. The Raiders already clinched the first bid by claiming the regular season title, so if they get by OIT, the second will go to the WPU-CI winner.

NAIA TOP 25: The Raiders climbed two more spots to No. 20 in Wednesday's final NAIA Top 25 coaches' poll. It's their highest post of the season, and marks just the second time they've been among the top-20 in November (the first being in 2018). Warner Pacific is the only other CCC team receiving votes.

SOU VS. OIT: The Raiders won 3-0 in the teams' regular season matchup, Oct. 20 at Raider Stadium, keeping the Owls scoreless all-time in Ashland and getting goals from Evan Norconk, Bryan Mendoza and Alex Hjulmand. SOU is 8-1-1 overall in the series, a record that includes two CCC Tournament matchups: a 1-0 win in the 2018 quarterfinals, and a 2-2 tie in the 2021 semifinals in which the Owls equalized in the 90th minute and advanced in penalty kicks. They're led by an SOU alum, head coach Sean McManamon, who was an all-conference midfielder for the Raiders before serving on Davie Carmichael's staff for four seasons.

QUARTERFINALS IN REVIEW: Adrian Villegas registered his 13th goal while Evan Norconk got his 10th along with an assist as the Raiders rolled over No. 8 seed Corban, 5-0, and stayed fresh while deploying 11 reserves Monday. OIT stayed alive by upsetting No. 4 seed Carroll (Mont.) 3-1 with two goals in the second overtime session. Andrew Pasang had the game-winner with his team-leading 12th goal in the 105th minute.

SOU TOURNAMENT HISTORY: The Raiders are in the tourney for the seventh consecutive season and making their sixth consecutive semifinal appearance. They captured their lone title in 2017, and have since been eliminated in penalty kicks four semifinals in a row. They remain unbeaten in the tournament games with a 9-0-5 combined record.
