OLYMPIA, Wash. – Contributions up and down the roster and a dominant third quarter sent No. 25-ranked Southern Oregon to its sixth consecutive victory, 70-55 over Evergreen (Wash.) on Saturday afternoon at the Costantino Recreation Center.
The Raiders (19-5 overall, 15-3 Cascade Conference) got half of their points from a bench that outscored the Evergreen's 35-4. They wore down the Geoducks by the second half, winning the third quarter 22-8 behind
Kami Walk's nine-point period.
Walk finished with 11 points, five assists and three steals,
Emma Schmerbach had 11 points and four steals, and
Kalei Iwami went for 11 points and four rebounds.
The Raiders forced a season-high 30 turnovers, including 18 in the first half to cling to a 29-27 lead at the break.
Danasia Allison and
Brianna Phiakhamngon joined Schmerbach with four steals apiece. Phiakhamngon also dished out six assists.
Reserves
Yasmine Ahllamara and
Mallory Williams both put their stamps on the game – Ahllamara with nine points on 3-of-4 shooting from 3, and Williams with nine points and 2-of-3 marksmanship downtown.
Clara Robbins contributed six points, five rebounds and two blocks.
Lily Stewart kept the Geoducks (7-13, 4-13) in the game with 18 points on 9-of-10 shooting and nine boards.
The Raiders ended the weekend in third place. Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), which is two games ahead and tied for first with Eastern Oregon, visits Lithia Motors Pavilion next Friday at 5:30 p.m.
