ASHLAND – Southern Oregon ascended four spots to No. 5 as part of some significant realignment at the top of the NAIA Top 25 softball coaches' poll, the second of the regular season released by the national office.

The Raiders, who were No. 10 in the preseason, earned the boost by winning 13 of their last 14 games – nine of them by at least eight runs. They're 18-4 overall and 8-1 in the Cascade Conference entering this week's series at British Columbia, which stands at 13-7 and 7-4. First pitch of Friday's doubleheader has moved up half an hour to 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time, and Saturday's starts at 11 a.m.

Oregon Tech (20-5, 11-1) took over the No. 1 ranking, also moving up four spots. Of the teams that were among the previous top-five, all but the Owls moved out.

Among the CCC's other representatives, College of Idaho (24-2, 10-2) stayed at No. 12 and Eastern Oregon (17-8, 8-4) fell four spots to No. 25.

The Raiders are in the midst of a 12-game road trip, which continues against the top-ranked Owls on Wednesday in Klamath Falls. They'll return home on April 7-8 for a marquee series against C of I.
