Headlines: Over the weekend, the Raiders followed up their most efficient attacking display in over 15 years (hitting at a .542 average Friday against Walla Walla) with their top defensive numbers of the season (holding Lewis-Clark State to negative-.020 average on Saturday). The result was their seventh and eighth sweeps of the season, and they'll go for more this week against a few teams picked to finish toward the bottom of the Cascade Conference standings. Tuesday's rivalry match is the one to watch: They lost four in a row to the Owls over the 2021 and '22 seasons, a streak preceded by 34 consecutive wins in the series.
No. 24 RAIDER MEN'S SOCCER (4-1-0)
12 p.m. Friday – at Warner Pacific (3-1-0) | Stream | Stats
12 p.m. Saturday – at Multnomah (2-2-0) | Stats
Headlines: At the end of a successful non-conference slate, SOU got a wakeup call Saturday in the form of a 4-1 loss at Menlo (Calif.). It may have come at just the right time: The Raiders are 13-3 after losses under head coach
Davie Carmichael, and they start CCC play with what could be the most consequential game on their regular season schedule at Warner Pacific, last year's conference champion and this year's title favorite. The teams tied both matchups last year, though the Knights knocked SOU out of the CCC Tournament in penalty kicks. Through five games, the Raiders are getting the attacking production they expected out of veterans
Adrian Villegas (3 goals, 1 assist), who's had goal involvements in four of them, and
Evan Norconk (3 goals).
RAIDER WOMEN'S SOCCER (3-3-0)
2:30 p.m. Friday – at Warner Pacific (3-2-0) | Stream | Stats
2:30 p.m. Saturday – at Multnomah (1-2-0) | Stats
Headlines: SOU coach
Jenni Rosenberg is known for avoiding gimmes in the preseason and was true to form over the last month. Her young roster has already experienced the highs of a three-game winning streak that included an upset of the No. 9-ranked team in the NAIA, and the lows of a three-game losing streak that remains active after last Friday's 2-1 setback at NCAA Division II squad Stanislaus State (Calif.). Now the Raiders will jump into CCC play, where went 19-3-2 over the last two years. They've been particularly successful against their upcoming opponents, winning their last nine against Warner Pacific and all four of their matchups against Multnomah by an aggregate score of 22-0.

Headlines: The first of SOU's four regular season meets is on tap Saturday, with the men's 8K starting at 8:30 a.m. and the women's 6K at 9:15 a.m. Both teams are coming off ninth-place finishes at last year's NAIA Championships, and the Raider women return a large chunk of their core with All-CCC runners
Lauren Forster and
Alejandra Lopez up front. The Raider men, who reclaimed the CCC title last year, also have returning all-conference runners in
Logan Jones and
Frankie Maciel, and are expecting to get an immediate boost from newcomers like transfer
Jalen Griego and freshman Mason Weisberger. A complete look at the teams will be published later this week.
