COMPLETE RACES RESULTS

ROCKLIN, Calif. – In a three-team race with with Jessup (Calif.) and Cal Maritime on Saturday morning, the No. 15-ranked Southern Oregon men's cross country team threw up a perfect score and the No. 8 Raider women won the Jessup Invitational handily on the Warriors' campus.

Led by freshman Mason Weisgerber, the Raider men occupied the top-five spots in the standings and produced eight of the top-10 finishers in an 8,000-meter race that also included a handful of runners representing Cal Maritime and Simpson (Calif.).

Weisgerber, who finished fourth in his collegiate debut last week at the Jim Hunt Humboldt Invitational, picked up the win in 24 minutes 56.5 seconds. Frankie Maciel (25:06.5), Logan Jones (25:36.1), Jalen Griego (26:08.5) and Luke Lucchesi (26:37.9) rounded out the top five. Asher Tatsumi (27:13.8), Hayden Roth (27:19.6) and Ben Jordan (27:57.2) were the other top-10 placers.

Alyssa Johnson, another freshman, was the top placer for an SOU women's team that won again despite being without a few top performers for the second week in a row. She was the runner-up in the 5K with a time of 20:27.4 – unattached runner Marissa D'Atri was 45 seconds ahead – helping the Raiders, who moved up one spot in this week's NAIA Top 25, score 20 points to Jessup's 35.

Lauren Forster (20:58.5), Cammeo Ramirez (21:12.5) and Sarah Mauk (21:24.8) placed fifth, sixth and seventh. In 10th place, Mercedes Harms (22:07.0) was the team's final scorer.

SOU is off the next two weekends before returning to action Oct. 14 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational.
