CALDWELL, Idaho – Natasja Davis scored her Cascade Conference-leading eighth goal in 10 games to get No. 17-ranked College of Idaho past Southern Oregon, 1-0 on Friday night at Simplot Stadium.
Davis, a sophomore forward, took an assist from Payton Mongelli in the 69th minute for the lone score. It made the first-place Yotes 8-1-1 overall and 4-0-0 in the CCC, and the Raiders 4-4-2 and 1-1-2.
The loss ended SOU's team-record CCC unbeaten streak, which dated back to last season, at 14 games.
Keeper
Ashlynn Hernandez kept SOU in the game by making six saves. The Yotes fired 11 shots before Davis finally put one through, while the Raiders didn't generate their only shot until a few minutes later – a strike by
Kaylah Bresee that Hannah McFadden saved to preserve the lead.
The Yotes have shut out three consecutive opponents and are unbeaten in eight straight games.
The Raiders play again 7 p.m. Saturday at Eastern Oregon, which enters the contest at 2-0-2 in conference play.
