TURLOCK, Calif. –
Kaylah Bresee's goal gave the Southern Oregon women's soccer team an early lead that slipped away in a 2-1 loss to NCAA Division II program Stanislaus State (Calif.) on Friday night at Warrior Stadium.
In the 16th minute, Bresee broke a Raiders scoreless streak that stretched back to her first career goal three games prior. The freshman got her second unassisted, centering up a shot that went over Warriors keeper Natalia Ochoa.
Marvic Lek-Miro equalized four minutes later, and the Warriors (1-1-1) took the lead in the 49th when Kayla Perez found the net.
SOU keeper
Ashlynn Hernandez limited the damage by making eight saves. Ochoa made three.
The Raiders dropped to 3-3. The loss was their third in a row decided by one goal against Stanislaus State, SOU head coach
Jenni Rosenberg's alma mater.
They start Cascade Conference play next week on the road, visiting Warner Pacific on Friday and Multnomah on Saturday.
