LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) guard Callie Stevens, the two-time Cascade Conference Player of the Year, ensured Southern Oregon's offensive struggles were too much to overcome in the No. 7-ranked Warriors 68-42 win Friday night at the P1FCU Activity Center.
Stevens shot 10-of-19 from the field with five 3-pointers to score 25 points, padding her line with 13 in the fourth quarter to put the No. 20 Raiders away. Her backcourt mate, Ellie Sander, scored 12 of her 15 in the opening quarter to help LCSC build a lead that shot to 21 points with three minutes left in the first half.
LCSC improved to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in the Cascade Conference with a chance to take over first place when it hosts unbeaten Oregon Tech on Saturday. The Raiders (10-4, 6-2) dropped to third place.
Twenty-three turnovers and 31-percent shooting prevented them from chipping away at a 16-point halftime deficit. Their bright spot offensively was
Kami Walk, who scored 18 points on an 8-of-13 effort and grabbed eight rebounds.
Meghan McIntyre chipped in eight points and six assists, but was stopped short of double figures in the scoring column for the first time in 12 games.
The Warriors have won 43 of their last 46 games at home dating back to the 2021-22 season. They got another boost from forward Maddie Holm, who provided 14 points, nine rebounds and five steals.
SOU completes the road trip at 7 p.m. Friday against Walla Walla (Wash.).
