NAIA CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES QUALIFIERS

ASHLAND
– The Southern Oregon University football team landed at No. 22 in Sunday's final NAIA GoRout Top 25, falling short of a spot in the 20-team NAIA Championship Series.

The Raiders fell eight spots in the poll following Saturday's 27-24 overtime loss at College of Idaho. Four teams ranked ahead of them – No. 16 Southeastern (Fla.), No. 17 Concordia (Neb.), No. 18 Dordt (Iowa) and No. 21 Campbellsville (Ky.) – were also left out of the postseason.

The field consists of 13 automatic and seven at-large qualifiers. The at-large teams were picked by the NAIA Football National Selection Committee based on, in the words of the national office, "various criteria."

Frontier regular-season champion Montana Western, ranked No. 4 in the final poll, and No. 8 Montana Tech will represent the conference. Both were awarded first-round byes.

The Raiders finished at 8-3 overall and 5-3 in the Frontier, tied with College of Idaho in fourth place. Their three losses were all on the road, by a combined margin of 14 points. The win total was their highest in seven years.
