SAN DIMAS, Calif. – The No. 4-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team finished a two-game trip to Southern California with its most lopsided victory in eight years, 88-28 over Life Pacific on Saturday at Mehl Court.
The Raiders (6-0) took control of the game from the start. They outscored the Warriors by 22 points in the first quarter and ended the first half leading 45-15.
Senior point guard Megan McIntyre was terrific all around with 13 points, seven steals, five rebounds, five assists and zero turnovers. She shared the team-high in points with senior forward
Mallory Williams, who hit 4-of-7 3-point attempts off the bench.
Three other Raiders also posted double-digit scoring totals:
Emma Schmerbach (12 points) on 5-of-7 shooting,
Sierra Scheppele (12) on 4-of-6 from 3 in just 14 minutes of action, and
Bridgette McIntyre (10) on 50% shooting with seven rebounds.
SOU's 3-point barrage featured 17 makes, tied for the second-most in team history. In addition to Scheppele and Williams,
Makayla Scurlock hit three off the bench. The Raiders shot 49% from outside.
SOU held the Warriors to just 19% shooting from the field and forced 26 turnovers, resulting in the lowest point total for an opponent in seven years.
The Raiders poured in a 30-point third quarter. They shot 62% from the field and forced the Warriors to commit 11 turnovers during the period.
SOU takes on College of Idaho (2-1) in its first Cascade Conference game of the year, Dec. 6 in Caldwell.
