KLAMATH FALLS – Another double-digit deficit brought the best out of No. 4-ranked Southern Oregon again on Saturday night at Danny Miles Court.
Eleven unanswered points to end the game made the Raiders 65-58 winners against Oregon Tech, keeping them unbeaten at 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the Cascade Conference. After climbing out of a 12-point hole in the second half last week at Eastern Oregon, they started down 16-0 against the Owls and still trailed by 16 midway through the third quarter when the blitz began.
Bridgette McIntyre scored a team-high 14 points and made three 3-pointers during the comeback, hitting 4-of-7 from deep overall.
Emma Schmerbach starred late on both ends of the floor and finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots and a steal.
Schmerbach's sister, Tatum, drilled a 3 that put the Owls (6-3, 2-1 CCC) up 58-54 before the Raiders closed with three near-perfect minutes, during which they held OIT to 0-of-5 shooting and forced two turnovers.
