SALEM – The Southern Oregon women's soccer team ran its Cascade Conference winning streak to three with a 3-0 win over Corban on Saturday at the Outdoor Athletic Complex, capping a clean six-point weekend.
The Raiders (6-2 overall, 3-1 CCC) played with a lead for the final 87 minutes thanks to
Cora Thorndike, who sent in her first attempt from outside the penalty box off a pass from
Ava Johnson.
Skyler Coleman, who triggered the sequence from midfield, was also credited with an assist.
After Thorndike tallied her third goal of the season,
Taytum Curtis got her second in as many games courtesy of
Frida Vargas' fifth assist in the 30th minute.
Carter O'Shea recorded the final goal in the 78th after taking an assist from
Miller Bertani.
The win put the Raiders in the No. 3 spot on the conference table ahead of next weekend's home games against Eastern Oregon and No. 12-ranked College of Idaho, the defending champion.
They didn't give up a single shot in Friday's win at Bushnell and only yielded two on goal a day later. Both were stopped by
Ashlynn Hernandez, who is now at 25 career shutouts and needs two more to break SOU's all-time record.
Since losing their CCC opener to Multnomah, the Raiders have outscored their last three opponents 10-0 combined.
They're unbeaten in their last five matchups with Corban dating back to the 2021 spring season.
