ASHLAND – Morgan Baird scored 19 points, Eliza DiGiulio added 15, and No. 4-ranked Southern Oregon topped Walla Walla 87-44 to established a new team record for consecutive wins to start a season, stretching its streak to 17 on Saturday night at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

Baird's 19 points and six rebounds came in just 21 minutes of play on 7-of-13 shooting and DiGiulio's 15 came off the bench on a 7-of-10 effort as the Raiders (17-0 overall, 11-0 Cascade Conference) won by 30-plus points for the seventh time in eight games. 

The Raiders shot over 50% from the field for the fourth game in a row. They ended at 54%, including a 9-of-18 mark from 3, and hit 12-of-13 at the free-throw line.

SOU held Walla Walla (4-14, 1-11) to 29% from the field and forced 20 turnovers. It was the fourth time this season that the Raiders allowed fewer than 50 points. 

Sophomore guard Keely Wright posted a career high seven assists, along with five points and two steals. She scored or assisted on 10 of SOU's 14 fastbreak points.

Led by her and DiGuilio, SOU's bench accumulated 48 points. Sierra Scheppele contributed with 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting from 3 and Mallory Williams put in three more 3-pointers to score nine.

Clara Robbins finished with four blocks, all coming from the first half, and Emma Schmerbach had eight points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.  

Jaylo Bello scored 15 points and Natalee Trevino chipped in nine for the Wolves.

SOU looks to keep the streak going at home next weekend, facing Eastern Oregon on Friday and College of Idaho on Saturday.
