ASHLAND – The No. 4-ranked Southern women's wrestling 'A' team went 3-0 and the 'B' squad went 2-1 with three visitors in town for the Raider Duals on Sunday afternoon at Riehm Arena.

SOU's top outfit won 43-5 against Vanguard (Calif.), 48-0 against Simpson (Calif.) and 40-10 in the final dual of the day against Providence (Mont.). The 'B' team bounced back from a 26-20 loss to Providence in the opening session by defeating Vanguard, 35-14, and Simpson, 36-7.

The SOU-Providence dual – a matchup of the Cascade Conference's top teams, and a rematch of last week's 22-22 decision at the NWCA National Duals that went to UP on tiebreaker criteria – featured a lineup of backups for the No. 5-ranked Argos and a few notable absences for the Raiders. It did not, however, lack action: all 10 matches ended in pins. Kat Hingano, SOU's No. 4-ranked heavyweight, capped the day with a pin of Jasmine Andiniwin after trailing her 9-3 in the second period.

The Raiders' two teams combined for 22 wins by fall on the day. Mi Amanda Lanphear Ramirez and Briseis Serrano accounted for three apiece in the 117-pound matches. Holland Wieber (145/160) and Hingano both recorded two. Top-ranked Carolina Moreno had a pin and a technical fall at 131 pounds, stretching her winning streak to 59 matches.

The duals were SOU's first at home this season. The Raiders are back on the road next Saturday at the Indiana Tech open.
