KIRKLAND, Wash. —
Morgan Baird scored a season-high 22 points to lead Southern Oregon in a 79-55 win over Northwest (Wash.) on Friday night at Kristi Brodin Pavilion.
Baird shot 10-of-14 from the floor and posted three rebounds, two assists and a steal, helping the No. 4 Raiders (20-0 overall, 14-0 Cascade Conference) win their 20th consecutive game.
Meghan McIntyre added 15 points, four assists, and three steals after being named CCC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time on Monday.
The Eagles (5-15, 4-10) hung around, cutting the Raider lead to nine after a 3-pointer and free throw with 1:23 left in the third quarter. SOU responded with a 16-1 run over the next seven minutes and held the Eagles without a made field goal until 4:24 left in the game.
Emma Schmerbach had 10 points and six rebounds. Eliza DiGuilio scored 14 and grabbed a career-high nine rebounds (six offensive) off the bench.
Clara Robbins finished with four points, two blocks, and a steal.
The Raiders lead the conference in 3-point accuracy — hitting at 40% on the season — but struggled to find the rhythm, finishing 3-of-14 beyond the arc. They compensated by outscoring NU 54-28 in the paint.
Kimberly Carrada Sanchez scored 17 points for the Eagles.
Southern Oregon is 51-9 all-time against Northwest and has won 25 of the last 26 matchups.
The Raiders are one win away from matching the longest winning streak in program history.
They visit Evergreen (Wash. 3-13, 3-11) at 3 p.m. Saturday.
