ASHLAND – After helping top-ranked Southern Oregon match the best start in team history, junior right fielder Ari Williams was voted the Cascade Conference Softball Player of the Week on Monday.

Williams went 7-for-11 with four extra-base hits and nine RBIs in the Raiders' four-game sweep of Providence (Mont.) at University Field, which made them 25-1 overall and 9-0 in the Cascade Conference.

During Saturday's doubleheader, Williams had six hits in as many at-bats with an inside-the-park home run, a triple and a double to drive in six runs.

The San Mateo C.C. (Calif.) transfer leads the CCC in RBIs with 27 and triples with four. Now batting .382, Williams also ranks third in total bases (43) and fourth in runs scored (42).

Williams and the Raiders are home again Wednesday for a critical 2 p.m. doubleheader against No. 2-ranked Oregon Tech. They visit Bushnell this weekend.
