ASHLAND – Brandon Barthel, a senior receiver, was voted the Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week following No. 22-ranked Southern Oregon's season-opening win last Thursday against Simpson (Calif.).

Barthel put up career-highs of seven receptions, 182 reception yards and three touchdowns in the 59-0 romp at Raider Stadium. He caught a 60-yard touchdown pass on SOU's first play from scrimmage, then followed up with TDs of 53 and 14 yards in the second half.

The 6-foot product of El Dorado Hills, Calif., entered his second season with the Raiders as their top returning receiver. He totaled 21 receptions for 403 yards and three scores in 2024.

Barthel's yardage total was the highest for any Raider since Christian Graney broke the team record with 267 during the 2022 season.

He and the Raiders are on the road this Saturday, visiting Western Oregon for a 1 p.m. kickoff in Monmouth. The non-conference matchup will be the first between the old rivals since 2010.
