Raiders dismantle unbeaten Mountaineers, 67-43

ASHLAND – Bridgette McIntyre and Sage Winslow scored 15 points apiece and Southern Oregon convincingly dealt Eastern Oregon its first loss of the season, 67-43, on Saturday afternoon at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

Keeley Wright, a 5-foot-5 guard from Novato, Calif., pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds, to go along with five assists, and three steals for the Raiders (11-5 overall, 6-2 Cascade Conference), who went up by 14 points just 15 minutes into the game.

The Raider defense hounded the Mounties, forcing 19 turnovers, grabbing 10 steals, and holding them to just a 29% shooting percentage. Eastern had been one of three undefeated teams left in the NAIA when the day began.

McIntyre shot 5-of-17 from the field and had her ninth game of the season hitting three or more 3-pointers, going 3-of-7 from deep. She added seven rebounds and two assists. Winslow's 15 came from aggressive attacking to the basket, going 7-of-12 with all of her made shots at the rim. The freshman from Central Point pitched in five rebounds, four steals, and two assists.

Kelsi Siegner totaled 15 points, 11 rebounds, four blocked shots, and three steals for the Mountaineers (15-1, 7-1). Their final score of 43 is the lowest in a conference matchup since Dec. 2, 2023, in Lithia Motors Pavilion.

Lydia Traore scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting with four rebounds and Eliza DiGiulio had 12 points with seven rebounds. The Raiders won the rebound battle, 46-34, and secured 16 offensive rebounds, which led to 13 second-chance points.

Eastern's Maggie Smith had 13 points, two assists, and two rebounds, and Kali Kast had five points and three rebounds. Eastern (19%) and Southern (27%) both struggled with the 3-ball, but the Raiders excelled at the free-throw line, finishing 13-of-15 from the stripe, their highest percentage of the season (86.7%).

The Raiders host another home matchup against No. 20 Oregon Tech on Tuesday, Jan. 13, before a three-game stretch on the road.
