ASHLAND – Bridgette McIntyre's 3-pointer rimmed off at the buzzer as No. 20-ranked Oregon Tech secured a 50-47 win over Southern Oregon in Cascade Conference play Tuesday evening at Lithia Motors Pavilion.
The Owls (10-7 overall, 6-3 CCC) trailed 45-44 before Jozie Ramos keyed a late 6-0 run with a couple buckets, finishing with 14 points and five rebounds. Tatum Schmerbach put up 11 points, 13 boards, six assists and three blocked shots.
Offensive woes haunted the Raiders (11-6, 6-3), shooting 27% from the field on the night and just 2-of-18 in the first quarter. Keeley Wright helped keep SOU in the contest, scoring a career-high 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting, along with five rebounds, three steals and two assists. Southern's defense held its ground, holding advantages in steals (14-2), turnovers (9-20), and limiting Tech to its lowest point total of the season, but the Owls shot 50% in the fourth to close the game.
Sage Winslow posted five points, four assists, two steals and two rebounds, and Jenika Zurita went 2-of-4 off the bench with a 3-pointer to score five. Lydia Traore amassed seven rebounds, four steals, four blocks and four points.
