McIntyre scores 34, SOU downs No. 12 LC State 71-60

ASHLAND — Bridgette McIntyre hit six straight 3-point attempts in the first half and finished with 34 points, lifting Southern Oregon to a 71-60 upset of No.12-ranked Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) on Saturday afternoon at Lithia Motors Pavilion.

The Warriors used an 8-0 run to pull within a point before McIntyre drained her seventh and final 3, a 26-foot dagger at the end of the shot clock, with 2:36 left. Her career-high total made the Raiders 16-6 overall and 11-3 in the Cascade Conference, knocking the Warriors (16-6, 10-4) out of a first-place tie. The senior guard shot 9-of-18 from the field, 7-of-18 from 3-point range, and a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw line.

The win was SOU's fifth in a row against the Warriors in Ashland and it evened the season's series after a 47-62 loss to the Warriors in Lewiston on Jan. 2.

Following McIntyre's 26-foot bomb, a jumper from Tatum Brager cut the Warrior deficit back to two with 2:13 left. On the next possession, Jenika Zurita knocked down a 3, extending the Raider lead to five.

"I'm really proud of the resilience of our group and how we learned and adjusted from the first time we played LC State," said head coach Carlotta Kloppenburg-Pruitt. "We had a good week of practice and it really showed. Bridgette had an impressive performance tonight and her teammates found her in great spots."

Lydia Traore posted 11 points and six rebounds, and Eliza DiGiulio added 10 points, two rebounds, and two assists as the Raiders took down their second top-ranked oppenent of the year.

Sage Winslow had team-highs of six rebounds and five assists, and Keeley Wright dished out four assists of her own. Both guards collected three steals apiece.

LC State's Sitara Byrd scored 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting and Darian Herring dropped a double-double, posting 11 points and 12 boards.

SOU finished the night 17-20 (85%) from the foul line.

In the Raiders' last four games, McIntyre averaged 23.5 points on 42% shooting from 3.

They're back on the road next weekend, playing Bushnell on Friday and No. 22 Corban on Saturday.
