SPRINGFIELD – The No. 9-ranked Southern Oregon women's wrestling team upped its dual record to 5-4 with a 29-19 win against Eastern Oregon on Friday evening at Thurston High School.

The Mountaineers won three of five contested weight classes, but the Raiders had more bodies and accepted four forfeits to swing the rivals' first matchup of the season.

SOU trailed 19-15 when No. 10-ranked Vida Boskovic stepped up at 160 pounds and evened the score by finishing off a 10-0 technical fall over Hannah Hernandez in the second round. After an EOU forfeit, SOU's No. 2-ranked Kat Hingano – wrestling up a class to heavyweight – pinned Kiona Michael 25 seconds into their bout.

Lexie Garza (131 pounds) and Veil Foreman (145) won by fall for the Mountaineers and Isabella Coronado (117) recorded a tech.

The Raiders finish their dual schedule at home, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. against Menlo (Calif.). It'll be their last outing before hosting the Cascade Conference Championships on March 1.
