ASHLAND – Southern Oregon University's
Molly Grace and
Kira Sandoval were voted the McDonald's Cascade Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, the CCC office announced on Monday.
Grace and Sandoval went 3-0 as SOU's No. 2 pair over the weekend, contributing to a pair of Raider wins against Bushnell and triumphing in the team's loss to No. 2-ranked Corban. They won six of their seven total sets played and outscored opponents 138-104 combined.
Grace, a graduate student from Cypress, Calif., is in her first season at SOU following an All-CCC indoor career at Oregon Tech. Sandoval is a junior in her third season with the Raiders from Chelan, Wash., who has moved up after being part of SOU's No. 3 pair last year.
The No. 4-ranked Raiders, standing at 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the CCC, continue their conference schedule this weekend in Redding, Calif., against College of Idaho, Northwest and Simpson.
