ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon University beach volleyball team earned its highest ranking in program history in Wednesday's NAIA Top 10 coaches' poll, jumping two spots to No. 2.

Ottawa (Ariz.) remained the unanimous No. 1 team, but the Raiders boosted themselves up by taking down then-No. 2 Corban twice last week in matching 4-1 decisions. The Warriors fell to No. 3.

Winners of nine consecutive duals, the Raiders are 13-2 overall and 11-1 in the Cascade Conference with a chance to clinch their first CCC championship this weekend. In their final duals of the regular season, they play Northwest (Wash.) on Friday and College of Idaho and Northwest on Saturday in Kirkland, Wash.

With three wins, they'd claim the CCC title outright. With two, they'd share the title with Corban but still own the tiebreaker to host the CCC Tournament on April 9-10 in Ashland. Corban completed its regular season with a 13-2 conference record.

In addition to their team success, the Raiders have also produced three different NAIA Pairs of the Week during their last three weeks of action. The latest was their No. 5 pair, Kendal Hadwick and Natalie Perez.

The final Top 10 poll before the NAIA Invitational field is selected will be released April 13.
