ASHLAND – Much like the regular season, only a handful of points separated No. 2-ranked Southern Oregon and No. 3 Corban in the Cascade Conference Beach Volleyball Championship presented by U.S. Bank. Once again, those points belonged to the Raiders.

A week after winning its first CCC title, SOU got to celebrate another after taking the conference tournament with a pair of 3-2 victories against Corban on Friday at Raider Beach.

Maelle Garon and Andressa Ribeiro Soares, SOU's third pair, locked up dramatic clinchers in both. The first, in the teams' semifinal matchup, was a 15-12 tiebreaker-set win. When they met again in the championship round, Garon and Ribeiro Soares won the first set and avoided a tiebreaker by erasing a 20-19 deficit in the second, finishing off a 22-20 decision just seconds after the Warriors knotted the match score at 2-2.

The championship gave the Raiders (19-2 overall) the CCC's automatic-qualifier bid to the NAIA Invitational, which takes place April 23-25 in Mesa, Arizona. The Warriors (22-7) – who would've needed to beat SOU twice to win the double-elimination tournament – are still a near lock to receive an at-large bid and join SOU at the eight-team Invitational based on their ranking.

The Raiders will ride a 15-dual winning streak into the national playoffs.

"For us to be in this position in just four years says a lot about these women," said Paul Elliott, SOU's head coach since the program's launch in 2023. "We've been knocking on this door for a couple years, and we knocked it down. Now we're in front of another door, and I can't wait to see how we handle that."

The Raiders have won four in a row against Corban, including back-to-back 4-1 decisions during the last week of March to overtake the Warriors in the regular-season standings. Eight consecutive head-to-head losses to Corban preceded the streak, including setbacks in last year's CCC Tournament championship and NAIA semifinals.

The Raiders' No. 2 pair, Molly Grace and Kira Sandoval, and their No. 4 pair, Amanda Moffat and Kaitlyn Shilling, helped them survive the latest affairs. They gave SOU 2-0 leads through the first flights of both, using tiebreakers to do so in the championship.

No. 1 pair Emma Bischoff and Emmi Marks and No. 5 pair Jordan Faircloth and Rebecca Wilber supplied Corban's wins. The Warriors reached the championship with a 3-0 consolation-semifinal defeat of Bushnell in which their Nos. 2 and 4 pairs overcame respective tiebreaker deficits of 13-10 and 14-11.

The NAIA Invitational field will be announced Monday along with the final Top 10 coaches' poll.
