Spring Academic All-Conference Team

ASHLAND – Eleven Southern Oregon University athletes playing spring sports have earned U.S. Bank Academic All-Cascade Collegiate Conference recognition, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Eight members of the Raider track and field team made the list: Eric Ghelfi (Redding, Calif./Redding Adventist Academy), Jared Hixon (Palmdale, Calif./Palmdale), Kevin Jorgensen (Yreka, Calif./Yreka), Angie Meza (Saugus/Saugus), Jonz Olander (Grants Pass, Ore./Grants Pass), Jessie Rozario (Rocklin, Calif./Del Oro), Alexandra Rudd (North Bend, Wash./Mount Si) and Matt Williams (La Crescenta, Calif./La Crescenta). Sierra Anderson (Portland, Ore./Sunset), Alexa Gonzalez (Menifee, Calif./Heritage) and Julia Willison (Reno, Nevada/McQueen) represented the Raider softball team.

Anderson, Ghelfi, Hixon, Rozario and Rudd were all repeat honorees.

During this school year 51 of SOU's student-athletes have been named academic all-conference performers.

To attain the honor, one must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or better and at least sophomore academic standing. In all, 182 CCC athletes were on the team.
