The 18th-ranked Eastern Oregon men's basketball team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they cruised to an 84-49 victory over Southern Oregon tonight in La Grande.

Eastern Oregon improved to 17-5 overall and 10-4 in Cascade Conference play. Southern Oregon dropped its third straight and fell to 7-16 overall and 5-9 in conference action.

Neil Fryer led Eastern Oregon with 14 points.

Josh McDermott (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) hit on 6 of 12 shots to lead the Raiders with 15 points. Eli Thornton (Victorville, Calif./Victorville) made five of six shots for 10 points to go along with a team-high six rebounds.

Eastern Oregon jumped out to a 49-26 halftime lead and pushed the lead to 30 early in the second half as they shot 49 percent for the game.

The Raiders finished shooting 31 percent from the field and 18 percent from 3-point range.

Southern Oregon hosts Cascade College Friday night at McNeal Pavilion.
