Ryan Staker (Las Vegas, Nevada/Centennial) and Justonn Smith (Redwood City, Calif./Woodside) combined for 43 points as Southern Oregon scored an 82-64 victory over Simpson tonight in Redding, Calif.

Southern Oregon improved to 8-3 overall. The Raiders have conference games Friday and Saturday at Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho and then travel to NCAA Division I Utah Valley State on Monday.

Staker finished with 25 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Raiders. Smith had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Humphrey Jackson (Redwood City, Calif./Woodside) finished with 10 points and seven assists.

Jason Stubbs had 19 points for the Red Hawks.

Southern Oregon jumped out to a 12-0 lead to start the game and then led 20-6 on their way to a 33-25 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Red Hawks cut the lead to 49-40 before SOU scored six straight to take control again.

Southern Oregon out-rebounded Simpson 53-25 on the night.
