Eastern Oregon took advantage of a huge advantage on the boards as they scored a 91-76 victory over the Southern Oregon men tonight in La Grande.
Eastern Oregon improved to 8-4 overall and 2-1 in Cascade Conference play. Southern Oregon dropped to 8-4 overall and 0-3 in conference action.
Jordan Gregg had a team-high 23 points for the Mountaineers.
Jarrad Childs (Paso Robles, Calif./Paso Robles), in his second game back, had a team-high 22 points for the Raiders.
Drew Herrera (Medford, Ore./North Medford) finished with 11 points, while
Justonn Smith (Redwood City, Calif./Woodside) and
Ryan Staker (Las Vegas, Nevada/Centennial) both had 10 points.
Humphrey Jackson (Redwood City, Calif./Woodside) recorded a career-high 10 assists to go along with six points.
The Mountaineers out-rebounded the Raiders 49-28 on the night.
Eastern Oregon led 41-39 at the half, before the Raiders jumped out to a 52-47 lead with just over 14 minutes to play. But the Mountaineers came back and had a 61-58 lead mid-way through the second half and put the lead to double-digits for the remainder of the half.
Southern Oregon travels to College of Idaho Saturday night.
