Senior Cameron Kreuz (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) and junior Antwun Baker (North Hollywood, Calif./North Hollywood) both advanced through today's preliminary races at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Edwardsville, Ill.

Kreuz qualified for Saturday's finals in the 1,500 by running the prelims in 3:56.44.

Baker also survived to race another day at the Nationals. Baker advanced to Friday's semifinals in the 100 with a time of 11.01, despite running into a strong head wind.

Thursday was SOU's biggest day at the Nationals, with all 10 Raiders involved in events.

The day didn't turn out as planned as the Raiders came away with just team point (on the women's side) and no All-Americans.

Senior Stephanie Miller (Medford, Ore./North Medford) wrapped up her collegiate career with an eighth place finish in the women's javelin and scored SOU's lone team point. Miller finished with a throw of 140-08, a mark that won her heat. Liz Gleadle of British Columbia won the event with an NAIA Championship record 176-08.

In the women's pole vault, Jamie Wells (Eagle Point, Ore./Eagle Point) finished 19th with a vault of 10-11.75.

Alex Waroff (Rogue River, Ore./Rogue River) sits in 11th place after the first day of the decathlon. Waroff finished ninth in the high jump (5-10), 10th in the shot put (36-02) and 400 (52.04), 11th in the 100 (11.65) and 12th in the long jump (20-01).

The Raiders had four runners in the men's 10,000 and Joe Rath (Winnetkia, Ore./Crespi) was the top finisher for SOU. Rath just missed finishing in the top eight with a ninth place finish with a time of 31:12.88. David Laney (Portland, Ore./Central Catholic) finished 15th (32:05.61), while Ryan Sorenson (Sheridan, Wyo./Sheridan) finished 18th (32:12.26) and Ryan Ghelfi (Redding, Calif./Redding Adventist) finished 19th (32:14.27).

Chris Paterson (Forest Grove, Ore./Forest Grove) failed to qualify for the finals of the 3,000 steeplechase, finishing ninth in his heat with a time of 9:32.62.

Waroff wraps up the decathlon on Friday and Baker will take part in the semis on Friday.
