Baker Claims Meet Mark

Southern Oregon's Antwun Baker (North Hollywood, Calif./North Hollywood) set a new Cascade Conference Championship record in the 100 during Day 2 of the Conference Championships at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham.

The SOU men sit in third place and the women are in fourth place in the team event. Concordia is in first place on both sides.

Baker set the conference meet record with a winning time of 10.75. The time is also the third fastest time in school history. SOU's David Laney (Portland, Ore./Central Catholic) set a new conference record in the 10,000 Thursday night.

Senior Cameron Kreuz (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) also won a title for SOU Friday, picking up the title in the 1,500 with a time of 3:53.50.

Also, Chris Paterson (Forest Grove, Ore./Forest Grove) finished third in the 3,000 Steeplechase and Alex Waroff (Rogue River, Ore./Rogue River) finished in third place in the decathlon with 5,745 points after winning the javelin with a throw of 166-11.

On the women's side, Jamie Wells (Eagle Point, Ore./Eagle Point) and JoLena Boatsman (Kelso, Wash./Kelso) went two-three in the pole vault. Wells finished at a personal-best 11-05 and Boatsman finished at 10-11.

Also, Adriana Ricks (Sacramento, Calif./Monterey Trail) finished second in the long jump with a jump of 16-05.75 and Chenin Young (Upland, Calif./Upland) finished third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.79.

The Championships wrap up Saturday.
