David Grant (Seattle, Wash./Seattle Roosevelt) and
Humphrey Jackson (Redwood City, Calif./Woodside) got hot in the second half and helped the Southern Oregon men come from behind for a 77-72 victory over Corban tonight at Salem.
Southern Oregon improved to 11-10 overall and 3-9 in Cascade Conference action. Corban dropped to 6-17 overall and 1-11 in conference.
Grant finished with 16 points for the Raiders, while Jackson finished with 14 points.
Ben Potloff had 21 points for the Warriors.
Trailing 45-32 early in the second half, Jackson took over the for the Raiders. The senior hit a layup and then three straight 3-pointers to bring to cut the Warriors' lead to 47-43.
Grant then scored six straight points for the Raiders to give SOU a 49-47 lead.
Grant later scored on a three point play to give SOU a 66-57 lead with just over six minutes to play and free throws by
Drew Herrera (Medford, Ore./North Medford) pushed the lead to double-digits at 68-57.
Corban cut the SOU lead to 73-72 with 31 seconds to play, but Grant stepped to the line and nailed a pair of free throws and then scored a breakaway layup to give the Raiders the winning margin.
