Second Half Woes Hurt SOU Men

The Southern Oregon men saw a 13 point halftime lead slip away as the Raiders fell to Northwest Christain 69-63 tonight in Eugene.

Northwest Christian improved to 10-15 overall and 6-7 in Cascade Conference play. Southern Oregon dropped to 11-11 overall and 3-10 in conference. The Raiders host Northwest and Evergreen State next weekend at McNeal Pavilion.

Northwest Christian's Ben Voogd led all scorers with 25 points, including a 10-for-12 effort from the free throw line.

For the second straight game, David Grant (Seattle, Wash./Seattle Roosevelt) led SOU with 16 points. Austin Wolfer (Woodburn, Ore./Woodburn) turned in 12 points and Jarrad Childs (Paso Robles, Calif./Paso Robles) added 10 points.

The Raiders were in control of the game in the first half, rolling out to a 36-23 lead at the half after shooting 48 percent from the field.

The second half was a completely different story.

Northwest Christian held SOU to 27 points in the second half and 22 percent shooting and was able to hold off the Raiders with a under a minute to go to take the season series against the Raiders.
