Still in the middle of the Cascade Conference playoff race, the Southern Oregon men's basketball team hits the road this weekend.
Southern Oregon (12-7 overall and 5-4 in Cascade Conference play) travels to College of Idaho (9-11, 6-3) and 11th-ranked Eastern Oregon (15-3, 7-2) this weekend. This week marks the return to 7:30 for all men's Cascade Conference games.
The Raiders still are right in the middle of the conference race and needs one victory to best last year's total of 12.
While Oregon Tech looks to be running away with the conference crown with a perfect 9-0 mark in the first half, five teams are behind the Owls separated by just two games.
Eastern Oregon is alone is second place at 7-2, while College of Idaho sits in third at 6-3. Southern Oregon, Northwest and Warner Pacific are all grouped with 5-4 records.
After winning three straight, the Raiders fell at Oregon Tech last Saturday.
Southern Oregon's success this season has come from a team effort on the defensive end. SOU leads the conference in scoring defense at 67.4 per game and ranks second in field goal percentage defense at .399.
Jordan Highland (Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin) continues to lead the Raiders in scoring at 15.7 per game.
