Playoff Push Is Now For SOU Men

1/27/2011 9:27:21 AM

Stuck in a three-game losing streak, the Southern Oregon men look kick start a second half playoff push this weekend with a pair of home games at McNeal Pavilion.

The Raiders (12-9, 5-6) host Corban (14-9, 4-7) Friday night and Northwest Christian (7-16, 1-10) Saturday night. Both games start at 7:30, following the women's games at 5:30.

Thanks to a great start to the conference season, the Raiders are right in the playoff mix and this weekend could go a long way in the postseason seeding.

The Raiders are now in sixth place, a game ahead of both Corban and Evergreen and a game-and-a-half behind Warner Pacific and two games back of Northwest.

The Raiders still rank among the top defensive teams in the NAIA.

SOU ranks 26th in the Nation in field goal percentage defense at .411.

Junior Jordan Highland (Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin), who leads the team in scoring at over 15 points per game, ranks 24th in the NAIA in field goal percentage at .543.
