ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon men's basketball team took a 24-point lead into halftime as the Raiders defeated New Hope Christian 95-65 in Game Four of the 2011 Flagship Inn Classic Friday night at Bob Riehm Arena.

With the win, Southern Oregon improves to 4-3 overall, while New Hope Christian falls to 1-8. Both teams will play tomorrow, with the Deacons slated to play Oregon Tech at 3:30 p.m. and the Raiders set to face Simpson at 7:30 p.m.
Eric Thompson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) finished with a team-high 15 points with
Scott Tiefenthaler (Spanaway, Wash./Bethel) adding 14 in the win.
Jeff Bush (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) finished with 12 and
Dex Daum (Fallon, Nev./Churchill) totaled 11 points in the win. For New Hope Christian, Forest Stolk scored a game-high 20 points on 6-of-7 shooting, with Cameron Fry adding 12 and Corey Gantt adding 10.
Thompson opened the game with a bucket, and the Raiders led the entire way. The Deacons hung within one point as late as 10 minutes into the first half at 18-17, but SOU closed the first half on a 25-2 run and led by at least 22 throughout the second half.
