ASHLAND – Southern Oregon overcame a late second-half run by Concordia to hold on for an 80-77 men's basketball Cascade Collegiate Conference victory Thursday night at Bob Riehm Arena.
The win improves Southern Oregon's record to 11-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play, while Concordia falls to 8-6 overall and 1-3 in the CCC. Both teams return to action tomorrow, with the Raiders hosting No. 17 Warner Pacific and the Cavaliers traveling to Klamath Falls to face No. 3 Oregon Tech.
Eric Thompson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) finished with 18 points to lead a group of four SOU players who reached double figures. Terriel Thompson and
Jordan Highland (Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin) each finished with 14 points, and Thompson earned a double-double with a game-high 14 rebounds.
Kyle Tedder (Coos Bay, Ore./Marshfield) added 12 points in the win.

Jourdan Sweeney led all scorers with 26 points on 13-of-19 shooting for CU. Adam Herman finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds while connecting on all but one of his seven shots in the contest. Austin Dunn tallied 13 points and Drew Preuninger added 10.
The Cavaliers led by as many as five points early in the game, but Southern Oregon used an 18-6 run to turn a 19-15 deficit into a 33-25 advantage in the final three minutes of the first half. Concordia closed the half on a 7-1 run to pull within two at halftime.
The Raiders opened the second period with a 17-8 run to take a double-digit lead early in the half, and SOU led by as many as 10 points late in the game with a 68-58 advantage in the final five minutes.
After Thomas' layup put the Raiders up 70-61 with less than two minutes to play, Preuninger hit a three-pointer and Dunn followed with a layup to pull CU within four points with 1:06 remaining. Southern Oregon missed four free throws in the final 90 seconds – including the front end of two one-and-ones – to help the Cavaliers stay close.
Following a Sweeney layup that pulled CU within two with 40 seconds to play,
Kyle Tedder (Coos Bay, Ore./Marshfield) ended the Raiders' struggles at the charity stripe by dropping a pair of free throws. Tedder would make two more at the line a few moments later, and after Herman's three-pointer made it 78-77 in the final 15 seconds
Jordan Highland (Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin) made the Raiders' final two free throws. Dunn missed a three-pointer in the final seconds and Thomas grabbed the rebound to clinch the victory for SOU.
The Raiders made 55.2 percent of their shot attempts (16-of-29) in the second half after struggling to connect on only 27 percent of their shots (10-of-37) in the first half. Southern Oregon finished the game with a 39.4 overall shooting percentage, while Concordia shot an even 50 percent from the field (31-of-62).
