ASHLAND – Southern Oregon used a 19-point second-half run to storm back from a double-digit deficit as the Raiders defeated Corban 70-67 in Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball action Saturday night at Bob Riehm Arena.
With the win, SOU improves to 7-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Corban falls to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in the CCC. Southern Oregon returns to action Dec. 10, when the Raiders will travel to Oakland, Calif., to face Holy Names in a nonconference game scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Jordan Highland (Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin) led SOU with 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Eric Thompson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) scored 15 points, while
Scott Tiefenthaler (Spanaway, Wash./Bethel) and
Terriel Thomas (Boise, Idaho/Borah) both added 12 in the win.

Erik Cronrath led both teams with 24 points and added nine rebounds for Corban. Jordan Carter scored 19 points in the loss.
Southern Oregon scored six of the first eight points, but Corban went on a 30-9 run over the next eight minutes to take a 17-point lead at 32-15 midway through the first half. The Raiders outscored the Warriors by six the rest of the half to pull within 11, with Thompson's three-pointer in the final minute setting the halftime score at 44-33.
Corban stretched its lead back to 16 points when Carter's three-pointer made it 55-39 less than four minutes into the second half. Tiefenthaler responded with a jumper that sparked a 19-point streak.
The Raiders tied it up at 55-55 on Tiefenthaler's layup with 8:36 remaining in the game. Thirty seconds later
Kyle Tedder (Coos Bay, Ore./Marshfield) hit a three-pointer to give SOU its first lead since the opening minutes.
The Warriors ended the SOU run with a free throw by Brelin Powell, but Thompson knocked down a jumper at the other end to give SOU a 60-56 lead with 6:31 to play. Corban's Dustin Moore made a three to pull the Warriors within one, and the game remained close the rest of the way.
Corban had a chance to win with the ball trailing by one in with 10 seconds to play, but Moore missed a jumper and Thomas grabbed the rebound for the Raiders. The Warriors fouled to send him to the line with less than a second remaining and he made both to seal the win.
