Box Score SALEM – A stifling Southern Oregon defense limited Corban to 25.4 percent shooting as the 16th-ranked Raiders blew out the Warriors 71-45 in Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball action Saturday night at the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

Southern Oregon improves to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play, while Corban falls to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the CCC. The Raiders held the Warriors to their second-lowest point total in the 75-game series between the two teams, behind only a barn-burning 46-40 win in Salem during the 1974-75 season. Southern Oregon will return to action Dec. 8, when the Raiders will travel to Redding, Calif., for a 7:30 p.m. nonconference matchup with Simpson.

Eric Thompson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) led a balanced scoring effort for SOU with 13 points and added eight rebounds, while Taylor Roos (Salem, Ore./Sprague) scored 10 to become the only other Raider to reach double figures. Terriel Thomas (Boise, Idaho/Borah) grabbed 12 rebounds and David Sturner (Philomath, Ore./Philomath) added 10 as SOU out-rebounded Corban 54-32 in the game.

Jacob Kopra and Kent Foster each scored 10 points to lead the Warriors, who shot only 17-of-67 in the loss – including 4-of-27 from beyond the arc. Southern Oregon made 30 of 62 shot attempts for a 48.4 shooting percentage, including 18-of-33 in a second-half that saw SOU turn a six-point halftime advantage into a 26-point win.

The Raiders led throughout the opening period by as many as 12 points, but Corban closed the half on an 8-2 run to pull within 29-23 at the break. Three consecutive layups pushed SOU's lead back to 12 in the opening minutes of the second half, and midway through the period the Raiders scored 10 straight points to push their lead past 20 and essentially put the game away.
