Box Score ASHLAND – Concordia shot 54.5 percent in the second half and rallied back from a nine-point deficit to defeat Southern Oregon 83-75 in Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball action Saturday night at Bob Riehm Arena.

Southern Oregon falls to 16-8 overall and 8-5 in the CCC, while Concordia improves to 12-10 overall and 6-6 in conference play. The Raiders return to action Feb. 2, when they will host archrival Oregon Tech at 7:30 p.m.

Adam Herman posted a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds on 10-of-15 shooting for Concordia, while Willy Ligon scored a game-high 29 points for the Cavaliers. Anthony Holton added 12 points in the road win.

Kyle Tedder (Coos Bay, Ore./Marshfield) sunk a trio of three-pointers in the final three minutes as the Raiders tried to rally back, but his sharpshooting was not enough. Tedder finished the game with five made treys and 19 total points to lead Southern Oregon. David Sturner (Philomath, Ore./Philomath) again tallied a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Tim Weber (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) finished with 12 points and Jeff Bush (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) added 11.

Neither team shot particularly well in the first half, as the Raiders finished the period at 40.6 percent (13-of-32), slightly above Concordia's 40 percent mark (12-of-30). Southern Oregon led for the majority of the period after the Cavs came out fast to score seven of the first nine points. The Raiders led by as many as eight points before the break before CU pulled within three at 34-31 going into halftime.

Southern Oregon looked like it might pull away midway through the second period. With the game tied at 44-apiece, the Raiders scored 11 of the next 13 points to take their largest lead of the game with 11:25 remaining. Concordia quickly rallied back, as Herman made a pair of free throws and Ligon dropped a three-pointer before a Herman layup pulled the visitors within two.

Concordia actually tied it up at 57-57 on a Justyn Searle layup with 8:21 to play. Ligon made a layup on the Cavs' next possession, and they never relinquished the lead. A 12-4 run a few minutes later put Concordia up 74-65 with under two minutes remaining, a lead the Cavs would match at 76-67 with 1:10 to play.

A pair of threes by Tedder helped the Raiders draw as close as three back with 20 seconds to go, but Concordia made five of six free throws in the final 16 seconds to close out the 83-75 win. Ligon finished with 23 points in the period as Concordia tallied a total of 52 after the break. The Cavaliers made 18 of their 33 shot attempts in the second half, while SOU finished 14-of-32 (43.8 percent).

The win for Concordia clinches a season split for the two teams, with both teams winning on the road. Southern Oregon beat the Cavaliers 77-72 last month in Portland.
