Southern Oregon falls to 3-5 overall with the doubleheader sweep. The Raiders will return to action Friday, when they host the SOU Tournament at US Cellular Fields in Medford. Their first game at the tournament will be a 3 p.m. matchup with British Columbia.
Alexa Gonzalez (Menifee, Calif./Heritage) tallied a pair of hits and finished the day as the only Raider with more than one base knock. The Raiders scored the first run of the day in the top of the first inning of the opener, when Gonzalez doubled to right and
Julia Willison (Reno, Nevada/McQueen) singled to bring her home.
That would prove to be the only run of the game for SOU, as a

Southern Oregon held a brief lead in the second game as well.
Karlie Stephens (Eagle Point, Ore./Eagle Point) reached on an error and advanced to third on Gonzalez's second double of the day. She came in to score on an
Ashley Lowe (Sacramento, Calif./Ck. McClatchy) groundout. A William Jessup homer in the bottom of the inning tied it up, and the Warriors scored four in the next frame to take the 5-1 lead.
Sydney White (Clovis, Calif./Clovis West) took the loss for the Raiders in the opener, her first of the season. She struck out five batters in six innings, giving up four earned runs on eight hits. Stephens pitched the second game, giving up four earned runs on five hits in six innings.
