Box Score PORTLAND – Southern Oregon came back from a double-digit deficit to take a lead late in the second half, but 12th-ranked Warner Pacific lived up to its billing as regular season Cascade Collegiate Conference champions by holding off the 18th-ranked Raiders in the final seconds to clinch a 67-63 win in Tuesday's CCC Tournament Championship game at Bart Valentine Court.

The Raiders see their eight-game win streak come to an end, dropping their record to 24-9 going into next week's NAIA Tournament. Warner Pacific improves to 27-6 with the win. Both teams will advance to the NAIA Division II National Championships next week in Branson, Mo., with the official bracket set to be released by the NAIA Wednesday evening.

Eric Thompson (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) made seven of his 12 shot attempts for a game-high 21 points as the Raiders struggled to make only 40 percent (22-of-55) of their shots in the game, including 7-of-24 from beyond the arc. Doug Thomas led Warner Pacific with 14 points, Ryan Park added 12 and Coletun Tarr finished with 11. Stephen Harris fell one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Neither team shot well in the game, as Warner Pacific finished 22-of-59 from the field (37.3 percent) and 9-of-31 (29 percent) from three-point range. Southern Oregon turned the ball over 20 times, while WPC finished with 13 turnovers, and the Raiders out-rebounded the Knights 42-34 in the game.

After a brief three-pointer back-and-forth to start the game, Warner Pacific claimed its largest lead of the contest late in the first half when a Thomas three-pointer made it 27-16. The Raiders pulled back within seven at the end of the period to go into the halftime break trailing 31-24.

The first eight minutes of the second half saw Warner Pacific staving off an SOU comeback, never letting the Raiders closer than five points back. A trey by Taylor Roos (Salem, Ore./Sprague) with 11:34 to play finally made it a one-possession game at 47-44, and three minutes later Tim Weber (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) dropped a three to give SOU its first lead since the opening minutes at 51-49.

From that point the Knights twice reclaimed a five-point lead, but two more Weber threes helped the Raiders pull back into the game each time. Weber's final bucket tied the game at 63-63 with just under two minutes remaining, but Harris made a layup on the next possession to give the Knights the lead for good.

Southern Oregon had a chance to tie or take the lead in the final 30 seconds, but Tedder missed a pair of threes and a technical foul was called against SOU on the final rebound attempt. That set up Tarr for a free throw to put the Knights up three and give the hosts possession in the closing seconds, and a free throw by Josh Black sealed the championship for Warner Pacific.
