Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SALEM – A walk-off grand slam gave Corban a dramatic 6-3 opening-game win and the 17th-ranked Warriors claimed an 8-0 victory in the second game to sweep Southern Oregon in a Cascade Collegiate Conference softball doubleheader Saturday at Warrior Field.

Southern Oregon's five-game win streak comes to an end and the Raiders' record falls to 11-12 overall and 7-3 in conference play. Corban improves to 22-5 overall and 13-1 in the CCC. The Raiders return to action Tuesday with a road doubleheader against arch-rival No. 8 Oregon Tech beginning at 2 p.m. in Klamath Falls.

Julia Willison (Reno, Nevada/McQueen) hit a three-run home run in the opener to drive home all of Southern Oregon's runs in the game, while Irene Barrantes (Dos Palos, Calif./Dos Palos) and Sierra Anderson (Portland, Ore./Sunset) each finished the day with a pair of hits. Sydney White (Clovis, Calif./Clovis West) took the loss in the opener, yielding five earned runs on seven hits in a complete-game performance. Karlie Stephens (Eagle Point, Ore./Eagle Point) struggled in the second game as Corban tagged her for six runs in the first inning.

Corban took a 1-0 lead in the opener when Lounette Jackson doubled home a run in the bottom of the second inning. Willison's three-run homer capped a four-hit fourth inning, as Ashley Lowe (Sacramento, Calif./Ck. McClatchy) and Stephanie Vandenbusch (Fremont, Calif./American) each singled before Willison cranked her second long ball of the season over the left field fence.

The Warriors made it a one-run game in the bottom of the inning as Courtney Castronovo hit her seventh homer of the year. White stifled the Corban offense until the bottom of the seventh inning. The hosts loaded the bases with two outs on a walk and a pair of hits to set the stage for two-time defending CCC Player of the Year Stephanie Nippert, who hit her 15th homer of the year for the game-ending grand slam.

Corban wasted no time taking a commanding lead in the second game combining four hits with a hit batsman and two talks to score six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Castronovo hit her second home run of the game in the frame, knocking a three-run shot to left center. The Warriors added two more runs in the fourth on the strength of a Nippert double and an Eric Fitzgerald sacrifice fly, and Chelsea Schriber limited SOU to two hits in five innings to earn her 10th win of the season.
