Box Score PORTLAND – The Southern Oregon University men's basketball team needed one weekend win to take the No. 2 seed to the Cascade Conference Tournament but didn't get it, going down quietly Saturday night with a 78-53 loss to Concordia at Cavalier Gym.

The Cavaliers (22-8 overall, 11-7 CCC) forced a second-place tie with the 14th-ranked Raiders (22-8, 11-7) and a split in the season series, but won the tiebreaker. SOU will host sixth-seeded Northwest Christian on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the CCC Tournament.

NCU (16-12, 10-8), which finished in a three-way tie for fourth place with Warner Pacific and Northwest, won the first two meetings with SOU.

They shot 21-for-41 in the first period, forced 12 SOU turnovers, grabbed 12 offensive rebounds and held the Raiders to 3-for-17 shooting from beyond the arc. Adam Herman scored 20 of his game-high 30 points in the first and pulled down nine rebounds.
