Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CALDWELL, Idaho – The same College of Idaho bats that went quiet three weeks ago at Southern Oregon wouldn't shut up Friday afternoon in a Cascade Conference softball doubleheader at Symms Field.

Nickayla Skinner had more than enough runs to work with for the 24^th-ranked Coyotes as she pitched every inning in two wins over the Raiders – 8-0 in an opener shortened to five innings by the mercy rule, and 8-2 in Game 2.

The Coyotes (21-11 overall, 13-7 CCC), who were the consensus preseason pick to win the conference, mustered just seven hits and two runs in a pair of losses at SOU on March 22. Ashley Van Horne helped them to a season split with a four-hit day, including a run-scoring triple and a run-scoring double in Game 1. C of I went ahead with five runs in a second inning keyed by Briana Brace's two-run double.

In Game 2, Katie Rowe went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a solo homer for the game's first run in the second. The Coyotes went on to score three more in the third and two in the fourth.

The Raiders (10-12, 9-5) got two hits off Skinner in the opener, from Ashley Lowe (Sacramento, Calif./Ck. McClatchy) and Megan Scherer (Oakland, Calif./Bishop O'Dowd), and Sierra Anderson (Portland, Ore./Sunset) had two of their six hits and scored a run in the nightcap. Skinner – who in Ashland was battered for six runs and eight hits in six innings – struck out 13 and walked two in 12 innings of work on the day, allowing one earned run. She improved to 14-4 and recorded her 27^th career shutout in the process.

SOU's runs were produced by a Lowe double and a Brianne Craig (Rialto, Calif./Etiwanda H.S.) sacrifice fly.

Craig, the Game 1 starter, was victimized by four Raider errors. Six of the eight runs charged to her were unearned.

The Raiders were fresh off a 22-run output in Monday's sweep at Corban. They'll try to rebound Saturday at Eastern Oregon with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.
