Complete NAIA All-American teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Freshman shortstop Kelsey Randall (Concord, Calif./Concord) made more Southern Oregon University history Friday when she was named a second-team NAIA All-American by the national office.

Randall was one of 20 players selected to the second team and one of 10 infielders overall on the teams. She's the second Raider softball player ever to garner All-American accolades, the only previous one being senior outfielder Strohm Fouty in 2009.

Three weeks ago, Randall earned All-Cascade Collegiate Conference and CCC Gold Glove honors.

In her first year at the collegiate level, she broke nine-year-old SOU records for hits (86), runs scored (57) and total bases (113) in a season. Her .422 batting average ranked fifth in Raider history, her 34 stolen bases ranked second, and her 15 doubles tied an SOU record. She also drove in 27 runs from the leadoff spot, the second-highest total on the team, and led the Raiders with 20 extra-base hits. She had 24 multi-hit games, registering three hits 11 times and four hits on four occasions.

Randall committed just nine errors this season, at one point going 18 consecutive games without one.

SOU went 33-26 in 2015 and finished fourth in the CCC, making its second straight postseason appearance.

CCC representatives Oregon Tech and Concordia were among the final four teams in this week's NAIA Softball Championships.
